Stover YB 4HP hit-and-miss No: 95059 (1917)

After 5 years the engine finally runs. Take a look
at the engine running for the first,
second and third
time.
Curt Andree, who kindly looked up the shipping details
in the Stover records, tells me the
the engine was shipped, in a batch of about ten engines, to the Caldwell Shipping Co.,
San Francisco, California on August 3rd, 1917 before being sent
to Australia.
So it was manufactured sometime in the two months prior to August,
1917.
My brother, Bruce, located the engine, arranged the
purchase and transported it to Sydney.
The cylinder was pitted from years of the piston being
near the bottom of the stroke and required re-sleeving.
The head was pitted and required brazing and skimming.
The engine lacked the magneto and igniter bracket.
It probably had a Webster Tripolar Oscillator Type BK magneto
mounted on a A303K114-A igniter bracket.
I have managed to get hold of an AK right-handed version.
Webster Type K Tripolar Oscillator
But I haven't come across a K114 bracket in 5 years
of searching, however, old catalogues show the vertical Stovers
running on K25 igniters. I got one and after five years of restoration
the engine runs.

My dad, Rex, is a signwriter and wrote the transporter.
I have a 1917 Stover catalogue.
